Honda Civic Radiators

The Honda Civic is one of the most successful automotive nameplates in history. Introduced in July 1972 as a two-door model, with a three-door hatchback following that September, the Civic has evolved through multiple generations from a humble subcompact into a refined, versatile compact car. Along with the Accord and Prelude, the Civic comprised Honda's North American lineup until the 1990s, when the model range expanded significantly.

The original Civic featured a transverse-mounted 1169cc engine and front-wheel drive, following the layout pioneered by the British Mini. This packaging delivered impressive interior space despite the car's small overall dimensions. Early Civics were basic by any standard, typically equipped with an AM radio, heater, foam-cushioned plastic trim, two-speed wipers, and painted steel rims. Over the decades, the Civic has become far more upscale, offering air conditioning, power locks and windows, leather upholstery, satellite navigation, and a six-speed manual transmission.

The Civic initially built its reputation on fuel efficiency, reliability, and environmental friendliness. Later generations added performance and sportiness to the equation, particularly through variants like the Civic Type R, GTi, and SiR. The Civic platform proved remarkably versatile, serving as the basis for the CR-X sport compact, the CR-X del Sol targa, the Honda Concerto, the first-generation Prelude, the Civic Shuttle, and the CR-V compact SUV.

By 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million in the United States alone. The Civic held the title of top-selling car in Canada for 14 consecutive years starting in 1998. In June 2008, with high gas prices and a struggling economy, the Civic even surpassed the Ford F-Series to become the best-selling vehicle in the United States for that month. Whether you are building a weekend track car or keeping a daily driver cool in traffic, Griffin Thermal Products builds exact-fit aluminum radiators for Honda Civics, delivering the cooling performance these dependable cars deserve.
